INFORMATION LITERACY MODELS
Hello Bloggers, We are back again this week and we are talking about Information Literacy Models sometimes referred to as the big 6. These models serve as a guide for developing information skills in individuals. These big 6 are also called information problem-solving models in information literacy and they include models such as the big 6 information skills model, seven pillars of information literacy model, pathways to knowledge model, PLUS model and seven faces of information model. For this week we shall concentrate on the big 6 information skills model. This is an information problem solving model developed by Mike Elsenberg and Bob Berkowitz in 1990. This model explains ways in which people of all walks of life solve an information problem. It integrates technology tools in a systematic process to find, use, apply and evaluate information for specific needs and tasks.
